Three eggs, one and a half cups of sugar, half cup of butter, half cup of milk, two and a half cups of flour, three teaspoons of baking powder.

Filling

Two-thirds cup of desiccated cocoanut stirred into the beaten whites of two eggs with pulverized sugar. To frost it, use beaten white of one egg, seven tablespoons of pulverized sugar; sprinkle cocoanut on the top.

Cocoanut Cake

One cup each butter, sweet milk and corn starch, two cups each sugar and flour, two teaspoons baking powder, whites of seven eggs beaten, one teaspoon lemon extract. Bake in layers with grated cocoanut between. Carrie Canum.

Two cups sugar, two-thirds cup butter, three-fourths cup sweet milk, three cups flour, two teaspoons baking powder, whites of seven eggs.

Filling

Two cups sugar with enough hot water to dissolve it; boil the sugar and water without stirring until when taken up the syrup will thread from the spoon. When it is nearly at that point beat the whites of three eggs until frothy, add the boiling syrup, beating all the time. Flavor with vanilla and beat until cool enough to pile on cake.
