1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup lard
4 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 egg yolks
1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Line a form with this dough. Strain the juice from one quart of cherries.
Make a custard:
4 eggs, yolks and whites beaten (separately)
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup sour cream
Put chopped almonds on dough, then cherries, and then pour custard over all. Bake 45 minutes in slow oven.
3/4 cup shortening 2 cups sugar 1/4 cup milk 2 eggs
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 teaspoons baking powder
Cream sugar and shortening. Add milk to beaten eggs and beat; add to sugar and vanilla; add flour with baking powder. Rolls easily cut with cutter. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake about fifteen or twenty minutes.
1 can condensed milk
9 oz. shredded cocoanut
Mix together and drop on greased pans and bake 15-20 min-utes at 350 degrees.
Cream 1/3 cup butter scant, 1 cup of sugar, 2 whites of eggs well beaten. Put 1/3 cup poppy seed in bowl and pour over 2/3 cup of milk. Let stand while mixing the other part of cake. Add milk and 1 1/2 cups of flour in which 2 teaspoons of baking powder is sifted. Beat well each operation.
Bake in a square shallow pan in a moderate oven. Cover with any desired icing and cut into squares.
1 cup dry bread crumbs,
ground or rolled fine 1 cup sugar
1 cup walnuts, pecans or peanuts, cut in pieces.
2 eggs, slightly beaten.
Mix all together and drop from a teaspoon on a greased tin. Bake in moderate oven 15 minutes only.

1 cup granulated sugar
3 eggs
1/2 cup grape jelly
1/4 cup milk
1 cup chopped nuts and raisins
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons baking powder
About 4 cups flour
Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten egg, then add milk, jelly, nuts, raisins and vanilla and, last, fold in dry ingredients. Put in ice box to chill about one hour. Roll out about 1/4 inch thick, cut with cookie cutter and bake in moderate oven about 20 minutes.
Cream together 1/4 cup boiling water, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup white sugar, 1 cup butter or substitute. Add 1 teaspoonful vanilla and beaten yolks of two eggs. Sift together 3 1/2 cups flour, 1 teaspoonful salt, 1 teaspoonful baking powder, 1/4 tea-spoonful soda. Add 1 cup nut meats. Beat egg whites and add to first mixture. Lightly fold in the flour. Put in a greased bread tin and let stand in ice box over night. Turn out of pan and slice. Bake in moderate oven 10 to 12 minutes.

1 egg
1 tablespoon milk
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and then milk. Sift flour twice. Add baking powder and salt, and beat with other ingredients. Chill dough. Then roll out on board, thin. Cut with cookie cutter. Bake from 15 to 20 minutes in moderately hot oven. Take out and sprinkle with powdered sugar. A teaspoon of vanilla flavoring may be added when adding milk and egg, if desired.
