Two kinds - K. repens, with cylindrical fleshy blue - green leaves; and K. tomentosa, with larger spindle - shaped leaves covered with silvery down - are often used for carpet bedding. They are propagated by cuttings, or offsets in sandy soil in spring in a warm house.
