"Minnie Teufel, aged nineteen, was yesterday sent to the insane asylum, suffering from profound melancholia, induced by the hypnotic power of a former suitor whom she had rejected. She has been in this condition for six weeks. It was brought upon her suddenly as she passed the unscrupulous hypnotist in the street. She left her home in the best of spirits and returned in the sad condition which now ruins her life. The hypnotist left the city after performing his evil work, and friends of the girl threaten dire vengeance upon him when he returns, unless he is able to restore Miss Teufel to her right mind."
