Varvara. Vern. Bάbui tulsi. Beng. The seeds of this plant, called rehan in the vernacular, are demulcent and nourishing. Steeped in water they swell into a mucilaginous jelly which is taken with the addition of sugar in dysentery, gonorrhoea and cough.
