Divide an onion, and from the centre take out a piece the size of a common walnut, fill this cavity with a fresh quid of tobacco, and bind the onion together in its usual shape, roast it, then trim off the outer part until you come to that portion slightly colored or penetrated by the tobacco, mash up the balance of the tobacco, put into a phial. S. Three drops of this oil is to be dropped into the ear.
