Compounds of the alkalies and vegetable acids are to be given by the mouth at frequent intervals, as acetate of potash. If severe symptoms supervene, transfusion with common salt solution is to be resorted to, and the wound to be washed free from iodoform with pure water and an alkaline carbonate solution, and afterwards powdered magnesia is to be dusted on. - Dr. F.lbridge G.
