Blisters. - In a comatose condition large blisters or mustard poultices should be applied in quick succession to different parts of the body - chest, abdomen, thighs and calves - often very valuable in the critical condition near the end of an acute illness.

Cold Douche.* - For stupor of drunkenness or of opium poisoning. May have to be repeated if relapses occur. It should be kept up for a long time if pulse and breathing improve, or even become no worse.
