(Solution of Sodium Hydrate.)
Origin. - An aqueous solution containing about 5 per cent. of sodium hydrate, NAOH = 39.76.
Description and Properties. - A clear, colorless liquid, odorless, having a very acrid and caustic taste and a strongly alkaline reaction.
Dose. - 5-20 minims (0.3-1.8 Cc.) [15 minims (iCc), U. S. P.].
