Origin. - An aqueous solution containing about 5 per cent. of potassium hydrate.

Description and Properties. - A clear, colorless liquid, odorless, having a very acrid and caustic taste and a strongly alkaline reaction. It should conform to the same reactian and tests as an aqueous solution of potassa. (See Potassa.)

Dose. - 5-20 minims (0.3-1.2 Cc), well diluted [15 minims (I Cc), U. S. P.].
