Latin, Oleum Juniperi
Eng., Oil of Juniper. A volatile oil distilled from the ripe fruit of Juniperus communis. Average Dose.-3 minims (0.2 mil).
Eng., Spirit of Juniper. Contains 5 per cent. of the Oil.
30 minims (2 mils).
Eng., Compound Spirit of Juniper. Average Dose.-2 1/2 fluidrachms (10 mils).
Classed as a diuretic, diaphoretic, stomachic, antiseptic, etc.
Has been used in the treatment of chronic nephritis, particularly when evidenced by dropsy; also for bronchitis, asthma, etc.
