Grayish-white powder, acquiring a greenish tint on exposure to the light and air.

Soluble in 50 parts of water or alcohol; more soluble in hot water.

Expectorant, 1/20 grain (0.003 Gm.). Emetic, by mouth, 1/6 grain (0.01 Gm.). Emetic, by hypodermic, 1/12 grain (0.005 Gm.).
