This section of the book is from the "Handbook of Nature Cure Volume One: Nature Cure vs. Medical Science" book, by John L. Fielder.
Under this heading we have many schools of thought. All claim to teach the patient how to correct his mental faults and to give him the right approach to the problems of life. The system which has been used by Naturopaths right from the beginning is Positive thinking or the development of a positive mental attitude. This system teaches that a pessimistic, destructive and negative attitude of mind produces tensions, fears and worries and they in turn generate the climate favourable to ill-health. Conversely, it teaches that a positive, optimistic and constructive mental attitude assists in the achievement of harmony and health.
Hypnotism has been use by a few practitioners. Hypnotism is a psychological crime. Never surrender your mind to anyone, not even a Naturopath.
