Q. I have a customer that occupies two separate houses adjoining, as shown in sketch. House No. 1, kitchen is only used to do laundry-work in; the range is heated up about three days in a week. House No. 2, kitchen is in constant use, as the cooking is all done for both houses in No. 2 kitchen. Now, what is wanted is to connect these two houses together so No. 2 will assist No. 1 in having hot water there three or four days when No.1 range is not in use, and so they will both work in harmony with each other at all times.

A. Connect the hot-water pipes from both boilers, as shown by dotted line A, and cold-water pipes to ranges, as shown by dotted line B.
