Sec. 24. Lengthening a curved stem, or a straight stem which ends with a hook, adds the syllable Ter, Der, or Ther. The added syllable is read after all vowels and hooks, but before a final circle. (Lines 2-9.) a. The first half of a lengthened stem is placed in the position indicated by the leading vowel of the word, in accordance with the rule at section 4, 6, in the same manner as if it were a single stem.
b. Phrasing. - Lengthening a stem, adds to it the word
Their, There or They are, and sometimes the word Other.
