Sneeze-Wort-Yarrow, Bastard Pellitory or Goose-tongue, Achillaea Ptarmica, L. a native perennial plant, growing in moist meadows and shady places; flowering in July and August. - It is eaten by horses, cows, goats, hogs, and sheep : - the roots have a hot pungent taste ; the leaves, when dried and pulverized, excite sneezing ; and its young tops afford a sharp, though pleasant, ingredient in spring salads.
