One and one-half cups brown sugar, one-half cup butter, cream, butter and sugar, one cup sour cream one teaspoon soda dissolved in the cream, one teaspoon cloves, one teaspoon cinnamon, one teaspoon nutmeg. Bake in two layers, ice with carmel icing. Carmel Icing:- Three cups granulated sugar, one-half cup Rose Bud drip syrup or one-half cup brown sugar, one and one-half cups milk placed in pan, let boil until it makes a soft ball in water as for Fudge; take from fire, add piece of butter size of walnut, one tablespoon vanilla, let cool, beat to a cream, and ice cake when the cake is cold. - Mrs. Geo. If cream is too rich, add sweet milk.
