1 cup butter.
4 1-2 cups flour 3 cups sugar
2 cups raisins 2 cups figs
1 cup almonds
6 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon honey
1 pinch' salt Spice to taste
2 teaspoons cream tartar 1 teaspoon soda.

Beat sugar and butter to a cream. Beat the whites and yolks of eggs separate. Reserve half cup of flour to mix with the fruit.

Make as directed for No. I., leaving out the fruit, nuts and spices. Bake in layers. Fig filling:

Chop figs fine and cook soft in water, then add the sugar. Cook until thick. Serve when cold.
