Two cups sugar, 1 cup butter, 4 eggs, 1 cup milk. 3 caps flour, 3 teaspoons baking powder, 1 1-2 cups chopped nuts, 1-2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1-2 teaspoon nutmeg.
Rub the butter and sugar to a cream, add the milk. then the well beaten eggs, then the baking powder and flour, and lastly the nuts. Bake in dripping pan. When done, frost and] put on half walnut meats. Mrs. E. A. Betterly.
Six eggs, 1 cup sugar. 1-2 cup butter, 1-2 cup milk, about 2 1-2 cups flour, 2 heaped teaspoons baking powder, 1 large cup walnut meats, strawberry extract.
Separate and beat the eggs, reserving the whites of 3 for frosting, chol the nuts with a meat grinder. Cream the cutter and sugar, add the eggs, part of the flour, then the milk, the rest of the flour, and the nuts last. Bake in a large dripping pan.
Frosting: Boil 1 cup of sugar and 1-3 cup water until it will hair from the end of a fork, pour in while boiling into the well beaten whites of 3 eggs and continue to beat until c Spread upon the cake, mark'off Into squares, putting a half of a nut meat on each squar.
