One cup shortening, 2 cups sugar, 3 cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 4 eggs, 1 cup grated chocolate, 2 dozen walnuts (chopped fine).
Cream the sugar, shortening, then the eggs, chocolate, flour sifted with the baking powder, and lastly the yolks. Roll very thin and bake in a moderate oven.

Four eggs, 2 cups brown sugar, 6 even tablespoons flour, 2-3 teaspoon salt, 2 cups chopped walnuts.
Beat the eggs without separating, add the sugar, then the flour and salt, and last the nuts. Drop from teaspoon on buttered tins, bake in a hot oven, and cool slightly before taking from the tins.
