3 quarts rolled oats or oat flour 1/2 cup baking powder 2 tablespoons salt 1 tablespoon soda
1 1/2 quarts sour milk 1/3 cup shortening 1 1/2 cups corn syrup 1 1/2 cups water or sweet milk
If rolled oats are used, put through fine meat chopper. Return the bran to sifted flour before measuring; use three quarts of the prepared flour. Molasses may replace corn syrup by adding one and one-half teaspoons extra soda. Sift dry ingredients; add milk, syrup, and melted shortening. Bake in muffin pans in rather hot oven.
