For almost any of the sandwiches made the bread may be toasted and unless it is very fresh and good it is better this way. The bread or the toast may also be made daintier by cutting it into fancy shapes — the simple bars or triangles, in which case there is no loss, or into circles, crescents, stars, etc., with a cutter. For the pineapple sandwich the bread may be toasted and the fruit sliced thin, cut into whatever shape the bread is, with the same cutter. Powdered sugar should be used on the fruit.
