Cut away the sloughs, as far as possible, with scissors, and swab the surface freely with a 1 in 500 solution of corrosive sublimate, and dress with lint kept constantly wet with a similar solution (1 in 1000). Repeat the dressing every twelve hours, until the surface becomes perfectly clean and healthy
