Eng., Potassium Acetate.
A white powder or crystalline masses. Odor and Taste.-Odorless. A warming, saline taste. Solubility.-In 0.5 part of water or 2.9 parts of alcohol. Incompatibles.-Mineral acids. Average Dose.-15 grains (1 Gm.).
Diuretic, refrigerant.
It is used in the treatment of chronic nephritis, dropsy, etc.
This salt should always be prescribed in solution.
In the treatment of chronic valvular disease:
