A phenol occurring in the volatile oils of Thymus vulgaris and other herbs. It is an antiseptic and germicide resembling carbolic acid and oil of turpentine in action.
Average dose, antiseptic, gr. ii.-0.125 Gm.
Average dose, anthelmintic, gr. xv.-I Gm. per day.
