Here is a suggestion that might help others in your community to learn of some of the interesting things which are suggested in this and other books. Those who are not able to go to day school would no doubt welcome an opportunity to learn craftwork, photography, puppetry, hiking, and other activities if they were taught in the evening. By organizing a group of young people who are skillful in various arts, it would be possible to open up a hobby center in some church basement, schoolroom, library, or other public building, and pass around to others the fun of having a hobby.

If enough different individuals could co-operate, it would not be difficult to have one evening a week devoted to this center. Instructors could take turns spending an evening at the center, and in this way each person would not need to be there every week. A night or two a month given by a score of young people could do a great deal to enrich the leisure time of the whole community.

Of course, you might need some help in the project, and you certainly know some older persons who would assist until you could qualify as a teacher. Meanwhile you could be one of the pupils. At the end of the season a hobby fair could be staged to show the results of the winter's activity. A small admission fee would help to defray expenses. If you and your friends are hobbyists, you may enjoy a similar project.
