Does your school have everything it needs? If it does, it is probably the only one of its kind in the United States. Usually there is not sufficient money available to get some of the important things. Equipment wears out but new inventions furnish replacement opportunities. A group of good-deeders looking for worlds to conquer need not as a rule go beyond their own school walls. Certainly there is some pressing need that the principal or teachers would be glad to make known. It may be an archery target, or some new books for the library, or perhaps a motion-picture projector for the auditorium. Whatever it is that is most needed, there is a way to get it, if enough people will co-operate.

Students in one New Jersey high school who wanted to produce a movie and had no money for films budgeted their cost and arranged for an advance loan from the principal, with the understanding that it would be paid back in full by the sale of tickets when the production was finished. For several months they worked on their production, and when it was finally shown the auditorium was packed with parents, friends, and teachers.

Play streets are often necessary in crowded cities in order that children may play safely. Sometimes supervision is needed to keep the children within bounds. You might volunteer for this service and keep a friendly eye on the boys and girls.

In Minneapolis, recently, money was scarce and it looked as if the school libraries as well as the city libraries were in serious danger. The students of the various schools became interested and conducted a campaign with civic authorities and others that resulted in keeping the libraries open. Students in other cities have conducted cookie sales, have made Christmas cards for sale, and have done many other things to aid.
