Two cups of flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, salt, butter size of an egg, 1 cup sweet milk, 1 egg.

Sift together 1 cup flour, 1 heaping teaspoon baking powder, 1 heaping teaspoon sugar, a little salt, and add 2 well beaten eggs, and 1 cup of milk. Turn into hot buttered gem pans, and bake in a quick oven.
One egg, add 3 level tablespoons sugar, dash of salt, 1-2 cup water or milk, 3 tablespoons melted shortening, stir together, and add 1 cup flour, sifted with 2 teaspoons baking powder. Batter should be about the consistency of cake batter. Bake in a quick oven. Mrs. W. Coggeshall.
