4 ozs. butter.
5 ozs. sifted flour. 1/2 pt. mixed milk and water.
4 eggs.
1 pinch soda.
Boil water, milk and butter together, stir in flour, beating briskly; take from fire and set aside to cool, then stir in 1 egg at a time and lastly the soda. Drop small portions into pan at a time and bake 15 minutes. When baked open and fill with cream.
1 pt. milk.
3 1/2 ozs. sugar.
Pinch of salt.
2 ozs. corn starch. Yolks of 3 eggs.
Boil milk, add sugar, eggs, salt and corn starch whipped together, let boil until thick, set aside to cool, flavor with vanilla.
1 1/2 cups sugar. 1/4 cup butter.
2 1/2 cups flour.
2 teaspoons yeast powder.
1 cup water.
2 eggs.
1 cup currants.
Mix all together and bake into buns.

Mix and bake in layers and put jelly between. This should be served the day it is made.

2 teaspoons corn starch.

Bake cake in layers. Make the filling by boiling cream, brown sugar, corn starch and butter, adding vanilla when cold, then put between layers.
1 lb. sugar.
1 lb. flour.
1/2 lb. butter.
6 eggs, beaten separately.
1 cup sweet milk.
3 teaspoons baking powder.
1 lb. sweet chocolate,
2 teaspoons vanilla.
Cream butter and sugar, add yolks of eggs, then whites of eggs and flour with yeast powder alternately, last add the milk and grated chocolate. Bake in a moderate oven.
6 eggs.
1/2 lb. powdered sugar.
2 teaspoons yeast powder. 1/2 lb. flour.
Cream yolks of eggs and sugar until very light, add whites beaten to a stiff froth, and then mix in yeast powder and flour, stirring very light. Bake into layers in a quick oven.
1 pt. milk.
2 tablespoons flour. 2 eggs.
1 tablespoon butter. 1 teaspoon vanilla. 4 tablespoons sugar.
Boil milk and butter. Beat together sugar, eggs and flour, stir into the hot milk and cook until it becomes thick. Put between cakes when cold.
1 heaping teaspoon yeast powder.
Season as you like.
Flour to make a stiff dough.
3/4 cup of butter. 2 cups sugar. 4 eggs.
Cream butter and sugar, and add eggs that have been well beaten, then mix with flour until it becomes a thick dough. Roll thin, cut into cakes and bake in a hot oven.
