1 qt. flour. 1 qt. milk.
1 1/2 tablespoons butter.
2 teaspoons yeast powder.
1/2 teaspoon salt.
1 teaspoon corn meal.
4 eggs beaten separately.
Beat the yolks lightly, stir in the milk, then the melted Hitter, flour mixed with yeast powder, salt and lastly ;he whites whipped to a stiff froth. Have irons hot and buttered, cook quickly.
1/2 cap boiled hominy.
1 tablespoon butter.
3 eggs beaten separately.
2 pts. flour.
1 1/2 pts. milk. l/2pt. cold water. 1/2 teaspoon salt.
2 teaspoons yeast powder.
Mix the yolks of eggs and butter with the cold hominy, add flour, milk and water and beat, then add the whites whipped stiff and yeast powder. Have the waffle irons hot; do not grease them too much.
1 qt. milk.
1/2 cup boiled rice.
1 tablespoon butter.
3 eggs beaten separately. 2 teaspoons yeast powder. A little salt.
Add the butter, salt and milk to the rice while warm. When cold add the eggs beaten well, then stir in whites whipped stiff, flour and yeast powder. Bake in waffle irons and serve hot.
1 cup grated cheese. 1/4 cup butter. 1 1/2 cups flour.
1 egg.
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper.
1 gill water.
Mix cheese, flour, butter, pepper and water together, roll and cut into strips. Polish the top of each straw or or biscuit with the whipped white of egg. Bake in a moderate oven.
