Strawberries and Cream
Put the coffee in a jug with the grains of salt, which soften the water. Pour on the boiling water, cover, and place on the ice for ten minutes. Then pour a few cupfuls gently backwards and forwards to clear it. Cover again, and let it settle for ten minutes. Then strain off through very fine muslin. Add the castor sugar, milk, and cream. Place on ice for about six hours before required, and at the last moment put a large piece of ice in it.
