In some cases there is a deficiency of milk. This difficulty may generally be obviated by taking nourishing food, and those drinks which have a tendency to increase the secretion of milk, such as, milk, milk-punch, or beer.

Again, owing to some mental or physisal disturbance, there may be a suppressed secretion of milk, followed by local congestion, determination of blood to the head, etc. In these cases, Pulsatilla should be immediately given, two drops, or twelve globules, in a tumbler half full of water, a teaspoonful once in two or three hours. This may be followed after three or four doses, if necessary, by Bryonia and Belladonna, in alternation two hours apart. Should there be in connection with the above symptoms, considerable fever, together with great nervous excitement, Aconite and Coffea may be alternated as above.
