These are used in the same cases as the cordial balls, but are preferred where a more quick and powerful operation is required. Some of them are used in indigestion and slight attacks of colic.
1. Cloves and black pepper (bruised) 1/2 oz., boiling water a quart; infuse and give warm. - Moiroud.
2. Any of the cordial balls may be dissolved in warm ale or water, or peppermint water, and given as a drench.
3. A bottle of wine, 1 oz. of extract of juniper berries, and 1/2 oz. of cinnamon in powder. - M. Lebas.
4. Peppermint 2 oz., chamomiles 1/2 oz.; infuse in 2 1/2 pints of water, and give it before it is cold; in slight colic and indigestion.
