General dropsy.

General Symptoms

Swelling of the abdomen, and dropsy; colicky pains in the abdomen. Violent vomiting, with trembling and spasms, excited by every motion; disposition to diarrhoea; stools preceded by colic; bloody stools mixed with a skinny substance or a jellylike mucus; burning at the anus; constant desire to urinate, sometimes attended with pain and a burning sensation. Brown or black urine, sometimes however depositing a white sediment; difficulty of breathing, and lacerating cutting pains in the chest; dropsy of the . chest and palpitation of the heart. Rheumatic and arthritic pains in the back and extremities; most of the pains are aggravated by mental exertion, and are worse from evening till morning.
