Machine grinding the internal surfaces of gas engine cylinders may be used as a good example of this line of production work. Figs. 334 and 335 show two views of such work. It will be noted that these views illustrate one of several special internal grinding machines particularly designed for this class of work. The prominent feature in its design is that in place of rotating the work against the grinding wheel, the work is rigidly held in a fixed position. By means of a slow revolving
